Mr. (and Mrs.) Restucci go to Washington (Part One - The Willard Hotel)
Greetings All ~
First, unlike the movie, No, I did not get elected to the Congress 
However recently, DeLeesa and I did get the chance to visit our Nation's Capitol. To say that it was a great trip would be an understatement! - We had a wonderful time, the food, the people and the city itself was nothing short of breath-taking.
I have decided to make this a 4 part series as there is just too much to share in one blog post.
First, no trip is worth talking about unless you talk about the accommodations; most of the time people just say it was a nice hotel and the staff was courteous and they are done with it. However on this trip it would be unfair to not tell you about our accommodations, as they were the best DeLeesa and I have ever encountered. The hotel is called The Willard Inter-Continental, or just The Willard, it is a world famous, 5-star/4-diamond establishment. Established in 1850 and known as the "Crown Jewel of Pennsylvania Avenue" it has hosted more U.S. Presidents, heads of state and other dignitaries than I can name here. It was "president-elect" Abraham Lincoln's temporary "White House" before he took office, and it is rumored that the term lobbying came from the practice of asking President Grant while he was in the lobby smoking his cigar for a favor. I could go on and on about the splendor of the hotel; however a picture says a thousand words:
Located at 1401 Pennsylvania Ave NW (yes 2 blocks from The White House) - it has all of the amenities that you would expect from a 5-star hotel; however it has something the others don't and that is the staff. DeLeesa and I have stayed in hotels all over the world, and we both agree that this was by far the best experience we have ever had. The staff treat you like royalty and your every wish or desire is met promptly and with a courteous smile. If you have a chance to stay in Washington D.C. we strongly recommend that you stay at The Willard (http://www.willardwashington.com)
