Mayor pro tem resigns

I said goodbye to a friend and colleague last night.  It was unexpected but understood.

I enjoyed working with Bruce on the City Council, I especially enjoyed our heated debates over the issues.  Bruce and I may not have seen eye to eye on all issues, but I respected him for his ideas, and he in turn showed me the same respect.

I wish him all the luck in his future endeavors, and I look forward to him visiting our meetings from time to time and voicing his concerns at the podium.

I wanted to let you all know that on February 9th, 2009, the City Council voted to elect me the new Mayor Pro Tem.

This is the second time I have held the post, and I am honored to be able to serve in this capacity, I look forward to working with my colleagues, city staff and of course the citizens of Sunnyside.
