Ft. Pierce, FL - Can you believe they actually pay me to do this?

I made these buttons just for that low life, scum sucking, lying sack of waste material currently impersonating my Representative in the United States Congress. That would be Allen Boyd (Liar-FL).

Rep. Boyd lied to the town hall gatherings when he said he could not support the healthcare bill.

Friday morning before the vote he was still in the no column. But Friday afternoon, shortly after all his offices closed a mass e-mailed press release went out to most of the national media and the local media in his district stating he was not only voting for the health bill, he was giving it his full support.

This is not his first sin against the people of his district. Nor was it his last. But it was the most grievous.

So these buttons are just for Congressman Boyd. I made them with my own two hands. Anyone living or working in his district that promises to wear one may have one free of charge. Heck, I'll even give you a spare.

Here is hoping for not just a Republican win, but a landslide victory in favor of honesty, integrity and just a little back bone. Qualities that are severely lacking in our district right now.

"The way the [Healthcare] bill stands now there is no way I can support it"
- Congressman Allen Boyd during the Monticello, FL town hall meeting

The environmental nut-jobs have taken their brand of stupidity to new and previously unimagined heights. Check this out:

Lost in the images of aircraft dropping giant red plumes of retardant on a Colorado wildfire this week is the fact that the practice may not be legal under federal environmental laws.

A federal judge in July declared that the government's current plan for dropping retardant on fires is illegal, and he gave the U.S. Forest Service until the end of next year to find a more environmentally friendly alternative.

The aerial assaults have become a permanent fixture of television and media coverage of wildfires in recent years as planes and helicopters drop big loads of red chemicals over blazes. But environmentalists say the efforts are essentially public relations stunts that can send millions of gallons of hazardous chemicals into waterways while doing little to contain fires.
The Associated Press: Fire retardant drops come under scrutiny in West

So… Would the environmentalists prefer the fire? What about all the wildlife death that goes along with it? I don't think fires discriminate between endangered and non-endangered species.

Andy Stahl of Forest Service Employees for Environmental Ethics, argued his case by telling the court any farmer that puts fertilizer into a creek or river knows he can go to jail for it. It would appear this clueless idiot cannot tell the difference between farming and fire fighting. I wonder if any of these idiots considered the collateral damage from the forest fire. From what I remember the ash, heat thinned tree sap and charred debris poisons the streams and lakes far more thoroughly then over splash form a slurry drop.

What is even more shocking then Stahl's stupidity is that a federal judge actually signed off on it.  Last July U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy gave the forest service to the end of 2012 to come up with something more environmentally friendly. Does that mean we have to stop slurry drops on wild fires beginning in 2013? If that is the case, California and the southwest are going to have a hellacious 2013 fire season.

So the environmentalists believe human lives and property are to be allowed to burn rather then risk collateral damage from a slurry drop.  Think these clowns might want that slurry drop if they or their homes happened to be in the immediate path of a fire?

I wanted to pursue information on the Forest Service Employees for Environmental Ethics, but nothing comes up on Google other then the news stories about this case. Guess their idea of the web is something strung between two trees in a forest.

If our country goes down the crapper, one of the root causes is going to this casting aside common sense in favor of extremist ideology.

I resent the fact that people in places like Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco believe that they should be able to tell us how to live our lives, operate our businesses, and what to do with the land that we love and cherish.

"While others ran out, they ran in."

Gainesville, FL - On this anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York, Washington and Flight 93 I would like to take a moment to recognize those who ran in while everyone else was running out. Those are the police, fire and EMS personnel who were just trying to help. Many gave their lives. Many more were injured.

Most are still haunted by dreams of the things they witnessed on and after that terrible day. I know I am.

Pastor Jones and an Imam address the media during a a press briefing where Jones announced that he was calling off the Quran burning.

Gainesville, FL - Pastor Jones canceled the Quran burning ceremony. Will wonders never cease? I have to tip a hat to Jones, I would have bet the farm he would never call off his book burning. Jones originally claimed that he arrived at an agreement with the Imam in New York to move the controversial Mosque away from Ground Zero.

However, the Imam in New York claims to know nothing of no agreement. Now Jones is claiming he was lied to. So who knows what is going to happen this Saturday.

The Muslims holding protests around the world are making this idiot famous by threatening to make Jones a martyr. I really don't think they get it.

And the beat goes on…

Pastor Jones addresses the media circus.

Some of the local residents let their feelings be known on the matter.

That is a fairly impressive collection of hardware. There are times it is hard to tell which came first, the magnitude of the event, or the magnitude of the coverage.

And religion causes most of the problems, war, and economics of course, and study your history or you're going to repeat it; and if you're burning a Harry Potter book you need some serious counseling, you don't get it, you're missing the whole point.

The warm and friendly monument to tolerance on the front lawn at the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, FL.

As of now Pastor Terry Jones is still planning to burn a number of Qurans this Saturday night to commemorate September 11th. Jones is a firm believer that Islam is evil and thoroughly enjoys poking the world's Muslim's with sharp verbal sticks. He even wrote a book called "Islam is of the Devil." Can't you just feel the love around this church?

Jones' proposed action is outrageous. It is slap in the face to all the Muslims around the world that do not practice hate and violence. We are talking the religious equivalent of burning a cross in someone's front yard. A thinking person might wonder if Jones is trying to turn the nonviolent majority of Muslims to violence too. You have to wonder how Jones and his followers would react to someone planning a Bible burning party.

However, in this country Jones and his heavily armed followers have the absolute right to burn what ever books they choose. One of the tradeoffs on our freedom is to allow people to like Jones, Rev. Phelps, Nancy Pelosi and others to make outrageous political and religious statements without fear of reprisal. If we stop Jones, then who will draw the lines and where will those lines eventually end up?

That brings us to the second half of the equation. Protests of Jones' proposed Quran burning are already taking place around the world. Jones was burned in effigy along with an American flag in Kabul, Afghanistan. Gen. David Petraeus expressed grave concerns that this one nut job's Saturday night bonfire could lead to increases in attacks on American citizens around the world. New, highly public calls for for violence against Americans are being made every day because of it.

Even the suggestion of burning Qurans put really big targets on Jones and his followers. Aside from the obvious peril of his action, Jones claims he is receiving a steady stream of death threats. As a result, Jones and all of his closest followers are now packing guns in plain open sight. So we now have jumpy paranoids with delusions of some kind of Holy directive walking around with guns and constantly looking over their shoulders. Hope no one pops a lunch bag behind them. Hope they don't shoot one of the kids.

As outrageous as Jones' proposed Quran burning is, Muslims around world need to get up to speed on a few things.

The most basic of those things is that we enjoy constitutionally guaranteed freedom of religion and speech here. That guarantee does not change just because something in your religion says something someone else does warrants some kind of Holy Jihad. This idiot and his sheep are allowed to speak their minds and put on this stupid show just as Muslims are allowed to peacefully protest his actions. But this is just one loose wing nut and a handful of idiot followers out of a population over 300 million people.

While it is not too difficult to understand Muslims' frustration with Pastor Jones, it will never be acceptable to the people of the United States to avenge his statements or protests with violence. Targeting the rest of the American population both at home and abroad because of this one idiot is not a way to win friends and influence people around here. Even though targeting Pastor Jones might be more palatable then targeting random Americans, even that is not acceptable.

We, the citizens of the United States are not going to allow Muslims or anyone else override our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms. This is especially true if the reason is simply because someone exercising their right makes you mad.

Pastor Terry getting another five minutes on CNN.

Has anyone told Pastor Jones that he spelled Quran wrong?

Back in 1877 Denver was the site of the recorded first gun duel fought between women. Madames Mattie Silks and Katie Fulton fought a duel with single shot Derringers over a married man they both laid claim to. Neither was his wife. Both followed the general guidelines, paced off their steps, turned and fired. Neither Madame took a hit.

However, Cort Thomson, the man at the center of the dispute was hit. Some versions of the story say that immediately after the smoke cleared the ladies engaged in the mother of all cat fights. Silks won the cat fight. A bloodied and bruised Fulton left on the next stage never to be heard from again.

Silks continued running her business and went on to become the most successful Madame in Denver. Eventually Thomson and Silks married. They had to wait for Thomson's wife to die as she wouldn't give him a divorce. Silks went on to purchase The House of Mirrors at 1942 Market Street.

Mattie Silks lived to be 83, passing away in 1929 at Denver General Hospital. She died from the complications of a broken hip. Her House of Mirrors establishment exists to this day as a bar with a museum to the world's oldest profession upstairs.
